[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken around 09h00, before the sun had fully cleared the trees surrounding this lake, I was just playing with settings, trying to get a good exposure. I wasn't expecting to get anything worth posting here. However, I liked the way this photo turned out as there were no 'green' reflections from the surrounding vegetation so the swan and it's reflection float in a sea (or sky) of blue. The the small patch of sunlight on the bill and throat are interesting, too.

I know the composition is not that good but I couldn't get a more satisfactory one with cropping either. I tried all sorts of variations but the swan still remained 'front and center' in the image.

The original image was intensely blue so I ran it through the image fade tool to get a more realistic coloring. Sharpened it a wee bit and ran it through the digital noise removal after resizing. Then picked out a few details with the sharpen tool set low and at a small radius, mostly along the edges of the neck.

Hi Mish,

What lovely elements to this picture. The graceful swan, the beautiful blue water with the soft ripples, and the wonderful reflection. Add to that the nice colors and fine details. Very nice.

i like the water very much that you photographed here.the swan is a little bit too in the shadow and unclear.but the water really comes great out of it and brings a special mood to the swan.besides i would have put the swan more on the right.
