Dragonfly laying eggs.

I visited the reserve again today and whilst sitting on the side of the small pond watching the insects flying round in the sun, the baby Newts and Flatworms, this female Dragonfly chose a nearby stone to land on, dip her tail end into the water and lay some eggs. I managed to sneak near enough to take a photo or two before she flew off round the pond.

Moment nicely captured. Any idea on the species?
Hello Peter,
A superb image!
Great compo. I do like the water in it, the shrapness of the dragonfly especially the wings. No doubt.
Greetings,
Annick
Received your mail. Can't find it back though. Didn't know there was a new Canon Ds coming soon...?

Hi Peter,
Are you sure the male was the emperor lookalike?
This is no doubt a Brown Hawker with the bronze wings.
Sharp with great detail.
Well done,
Joe

Hi Peter,
This is a great compo and pose of your model. I like that we can see the wings so good.Good sharpness and focus on the head. Nice moment you have captured.
