Good shot with great detail and beautiful colors. Only nit would be the blur effect, that is somewhat unnatural - a bit like one of these paint filters.

Hi Silke,

Pigeons are plentiful but they really are photogenic. This shot is lovely showing the wonderful irridescent colors. Good details, nice pose, and looks wonderful on this background.

This is a really nice shot that makes this pigeon seem even tireder (if that's a word) ;)

The colours are awesome... I love the iridesence on its neck.
Brilliant low-down POV and superb composition and good pose.

Hi Silke.
It is clear that subject is rather common and pigeons are accessible to shooting. However your picture is amazing. First of all this is colour palette of the bird and ground. It is very impressive and very pleasant to eyes. Second this is skillfulness of the reproduction of the scene. It is superb. And at last, the subject not ordinary. Pose of the bird, your POV and composition are perfect. Bravo and TFS. Well done.

Silke,
Love the title: "Bejewelled"; very proper for this BEAUTIFUL bird.
From the looks of it this is a "homing" pigeon; I used to raise these many many moons ago when I was a youth ... still am, at heart. Have a close look at its nostril!!!
MAGNIFICIENT capture of its colours in all their glory.
