Blood Stones of Mourne

These stones which are situated under a bridge in a stream which flows down from the Mourne mountains. The area is know as "Bloody bridge" because of a sectarian massacre said to have taken place here during the O'Neill rebellion of 1641 when the waters were said to run red with blood. Here the stones have been captured early in the morning catching the first rays of the sun.

Hi Steve,
You're obviously one of these photographers who makes sure they get the right light for the shot,whether it means getting up at 5 am or hanging around for ages for a gap in the clouds to open for a second.
Beautiful light here again and a great exposure as usual.

the light is perfect for this scene, and I like the effect of the black border, making it appear we're observing the stream between a pair of pillars.

wonderful capture of the stones and water but i think you should crop off the abberation in the sky.

Hi Stephen, another superb composition here. I love the slow shutter speed on the water and the deep tones and textures on the rocks. Wonderful perspective and low pov.

Hi Steve,
Wonderful to see the illumination of the rocks caused by the first rays of the day. They gave you a great warm tonal range in the rocks and water. I can understand why you left the sky in the photo, because it does create your composition, but I do find the sky too bright to keep the mood perfect. I think cropping it is better.
