[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone.

I hope you are all having a relaxing and enjoyable Saturday.

Today I am posting a photograph that I took a few weeks ago, before the autumn descended upon us. It is a photograph of a butterfly. I think it is a cabbage white but will stand to be corrected if anyone knows better!

I was really interested in this shot as the butterfly is clinging on to the petals. She must just be resting on the flower. She is definitely not feeding as the flower, a hosta, is very droopy and is very much past providing any sort of food.

pp cropped, sharpened, adj contrast & light, added borders and signed.

Thank you for your visit.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the shot! :-)

This picture is so delicate! It feels almost touch ably fragile. There is a definite tone or feeling here...almost religious or spiritual in nature. Very nicely done!
Bob

Hello Beverley.
Pleasant composition!
Soft and beautiful colors; very good POV.
Well done!
Congratulations!

The species on your photo is Pieris segonzaci (Le Cerf, 1923).
It belongs to the Pieridae Pierinae family.
It is very looks like Pieris napi (Linnaeus, 1758), but I think that isn't the same species.
Nerver saw it in Europe.

Hi Beverley.
You have created a true poetic picture. I like your delicate subject, nice colours and soft lighting. Composition of the shot, its presentation are great. Only image is soft a bit but this is not a key point. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Beverley. Not to sure about the ID . But you have taken a very good shot. I like the compostion with the dying flower and the butterfly. nice pastle colours.with good detail on the butterfly. well done TFS.
Nick..

Hello Bev
This a superbly taken picture..the pov is superb with the flower filling the frame top to bottom..lovely dof which has given a really good bg highlighting the butterfly perfectly...Im not to sure about the ID though..I cant help with it but I remember as a child chasing cabbage whites of my grandads allotment and Im pretty sure that they were quite different to this fellow..I will have alittle look and see if I can find out your right and Im wrong!!
A very good Sunday to you Bev
Paul

Hi Bev, splendid composition with beautiful butterfly and wonderful flower, elegant presentation, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Beverley,
I wonder if the butterfly realize this flower is dying?
Pleasant details in this symbolic capture of a summer soon gone...
DOF works well and so does the composition!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Bev,
very pretty, i love the colour theme running all through this shot. Excellent composition and framing too, very well done.
Paul

Hi Bev, what super marking this butterfly has on its wings. I don't think it is a white cabbage butterfly as their wings don't have such dark patterns like this - I could be wrong!!
I son't think the dying flower is any use to it - maybe it's just resting!
Good shot,
Janice

Amazing, composition, colour, detail,s everything is super.
Have a good sunday too.
Thanks
Marie
