Lovely shot of a female Chaffinch. With the set up you are using you are achieving some great close small bird shots. This one has not only sharp with fine Bg but you also have a fine POV. The composition and lighting are superb too.

YOu are right -- it looks quite painful and yet I have seen a budgie with the most arthritic curled up feet still get along just fine. She is just very choosy about her landing spots.
