Knautia arvensis, Field Scabious.
Member of the "Teasel family.
Medium to tall(ish) hairy, fairly stout perennial.Flowers, blue/violet in colouration. Pink anthers, with 4 unequal petal lobes.
Flowers June to October.
Found on dry grassy and cultivated areas avoiding heavy soil.

Shot in RAW, and all PP work done in RAW before sizing/saving to jpeg for uploading.
Dedicated Macro Lens NOT used, Sigma telephoto used at focal lenght 300mm (according to "Metadata" on Photoshop) |

Hi Howard. we have many scabious on the hills around where i live. You have captured a good close up. good detail on the center of the flower . love the colours.well done TFS.

Considering you didnt have your prime macro lense on this is very very good...the detail to the centre is superb as the stamens reaching up out of the picture..The colours are true and rich.
