Either they come in different flavours or change colours from birth to adult or male to female..This one has a added brownish quality which makes it all look right in with the backdrop. Nicely done Nick.

This does look like a Robin pose. This Chaffinch is just as beautiful with the Robin expression on his face. Wonderful colors and perfect details of the face and plummage. A superb composition - couldn't be nicer.

This is a cracking shot of the male chaffinch!
His colours are perfect and his image sharp! I like the way he is cocking his head to one-side as if assessing you!
Good eye contact, excellent details and the light is great - just look at those shadows of his feet!

You managed wonderful sharpness and depth of focus in this image Nicholas. The soft natural colors are lovely. Beware of the dreaded sharpening halos along the high contrast edges. I love the background, the pose and the interesting branch.
