Hello,

there's been a howling northerly wind along the south coast over ther past few days, which has sucked cold air down from the Arctic and then blasted it down upon anyone who dared to go outside in it!
I'm not normally one who feels the cold that badly (The Heat is my nemesis) and i have plenty of outdoor clothing that will protect me from the elements... but i was only able to spend around five minutes at this spot, before being driven with frozen claw like hands and a numb face back to my car!
This is the view East from some 'anti erosion' stone groynes at the large sandstone headland of Hengisbury Head.
I have already posted a few other shots from this spot before, but every time i visit here the atmosphere and light is always different so i hope it isn't too simsilar to my previos shots.
I am moving home in a few weeks time which will see me moving away from the town centre (finally) and living only a 15 minute walk from this spot...i can't wait!

shot in RAW, adjusted curves, converted to JPEG, resized and sharpened.

Thanks for looking..

Hi Paul. Tell me it was frezing in the forest today so i went to Blasford lakes in the hide i still feel cold now.
You can almost feel the cold in your pictue it must be the light. There is a line from the rocks along the water up to the clouds. Good colour and compostion. well done TFS.
Nick..

Hallo Paul
Once again a lovely seascape that you share with us. This is a very peaceful view and I find the soft pink colour of the clouds in the far distance really attention grabbing.
You are a true photographic artist. The water, rocks, sand and sky are displayed in such a beautiful manner. I enjoyed reading your interesting note. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Hi Paul, the foreground has a great focus and colouration to it, and the water looks like silk. This is a very beautiful and serene image. The notes are rally useful and informative. TFS and all the best with the move...regars h

Stunning composition Paul! The light and colors are wonderful.
Great sense of depth. Great time of day for this shot.
Well done as always. Tfs Richard

Hi Paul,

Most wonderful land/seascape image with great sence of depth.
Lovely soft color tones in the sky and excellent composition with the rocks in the foreground leading the eye in to the beautiful scene.
Excellent use of slow shutter speed to soften the water nicely.
TFS!!!

Best regards, Harry

Hi Paul,

You make this look so easy. I tried a landscape shot over the weekend. which I post, but it really lacks the dynamism of your shots. You just seem to have an eye for landscapes, and the technical know-how to record what you see. Stunning.

Mike

Hi Paul!

The way lines connect at the far point of the shore is wonderful, leading to a very far, almost misty "little" (on the picture) cliff one would probably not even recognize otherwise. Nice natural colors everywhere, despite the rude weather conditions you described. I like it very much when you use the long expo with the wide angle: the further I look on the water surface the less blurring can be seen - and I can look from really close to really far. TFS!

Best regards,
Andor

It feels like I can see all the way to the next county or whatever that is WAAAAAAY down there. You are amassing quite a collection of seascapes. This is lovely in its simplicity and depth.

Hi Paul,

It may be cold out there, but from here the perfect wide angle seascape with the tumbled rocks in the FG, the fine beach behind and the interesting cloud formations in the BG is very nice to behold indeed Paul, the boiling water among the boulders is a bonus to this fine composition. TFS and cheers,
Mehmet

Wow you are lucky! Moving even closer to the coast than you already are! I'm stuck next to Oxford which is about the furthest you can get from the coast in all of Britain! As soon as I'm old enough I'll be moving down to Dorset or somewhere similar :-)
This is really spectacular!
The rocks you've chosen as FG are perfect!
I love the pastaly colours and cool tones.
Great blur in the sea while the rest of the photo is tack-sharp.
Top-class composition.
Your notes made me laugh :-D
Very well done Paul!
Cheers mate,
Joe

Hi Paul,
Wonderful shot and a pleasant view. Very skilful freezing of the water and it creates a fine effect with the FG rocks. Very neat and sharp image with superb lighting and colours. Excellent DOF and a well chosen POV to portray this seascape. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Paul, this is nice shot and lovely landscape. beautiful BG and great clarity. Ganesh

Hello Paul
Tell me about the wind!! its a bit windy and cold our way (with a fair few miles to the coast) so goodness knows how cold you must have been taking this!!
What is magical about this picture is how you have captured the waves so they create a lead in line to the BG..Clever stuff.
A stunning capture..And good luck to you on the moving getting closer to where your heart is.
Paul

Hello paul,

Hello Paul,
Wonderful view of this smooth sandy stretch of coastline from behind the rocks. Great DOF and the cool light and colours are beautiful as well as the magic cloud formations. I bet you'll be pleased to get out of town and closer to the wild coast!

Hi Paul!

Beautiful seascape you captured here, and what amazing depth in the photo! I like the distant clouds and the rocks in the foreground. Very good job on the POV here and details are aplenty.

TFS!!

cheers Johannes

Hello Paul,

I DO feel the cold, so I had frozen claw hands just looking out of the window! My husband has made our garden shed into a hide so I do have protection from the elements now!

This, I might say, was worth the icy experience and do you know, it doesn't look one bit cold!
The rocks in the f/g are sharp, detailed and create that all importand first interest. A bit like reading the first page of a gripping book! The surf maks a leading line and the composition is just perfect!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Many thanks for your kind comments on 'A change in character'.

Hi Paul

I am already jealous of where you live - now we will see wonderful photos taken out of your kitchen window :) It sounds wonderful. I hope the move goes well

This shot is of course another beauty. I love the colour tones, the light and the lovely textures in the FG rocks. Perfectly composed and great exposure as ever

Hey Paul, it's fantastic for you to move close to such a fantastic place! Congratulations, your love of nature is finally bringing you where you belong! This is a fantastic shot too, and the closeness of the rocks at the foreground leave even more perspective and space to the background... what an effect, it is superb. Those deserted beaches make me dream a lot. Great English shores. Thank you,

Francine

Probably one of the best shot from Hengistbury that I've ever seen....
