Here's another Barn Owl shot from the Rapto-in-the-Forest-Photoday.
I wasn't sure how to compose it so this is the best I could do, please give your thoughts on what you think of it.

I hope you like this one!

Hi Joe!
We are neighbours on the Gallery for the first time. Isn't that surprising?
This Barn Owl is as handsome as the others you have posted from time to time.
It has turned around to stare at you intently. Very nice posture, sharp details and pleasant colour tones.
Thanks for sharing it and all the berst.

Hi Joey,
I think the composition is the best you could have..I like the turn of the head. Also very nice details and background. How did you achieve that? Did you use spot metering?
Anyway TFS,

Hallo Joe
When I look at these owls I always think that they appear to be such good behaved, innocent and clean looking birds. This one also looks like the perfect model in the perfect pose. A well taken shot of this beautiful creature. Congratulations on an excellent shot. Well composed with good clear details and nicely saturated colour. Excellent eye contact and one cannot miss the great and direct stare. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.

Magnificient shot with excellent composition. The black BG gives great contrast to the owl, and the posture of the owl looks beautiful.

Hi Joe,

I love all of these Barn Owl shots! The stare is really something. The face is so sweet looking and you have captured it in fine detail. Wonderful natural colors that stand out so well from the dark background.

Jane

Although the focal characters are different, you are doing the technique simialr to Mehmet Atatur in his shell images...I like it for a change of pace...in shells it is consistent but in this presentation it is the inconsistency of presenting which makes it a totally different look and makes it eye pleasing as well..

Hi Joey,

Great shot of the Barn Owl, I think you have composed the shot perfectly and I love the pose with the Owl turning its head 180% to give you the once over, nice detail with well saturated colours that look great against the black BG.

Hi Joe,

What a stunning image of the Barn Owl.
Love the pose of the owl, great composition, the bird stands so beautifully against the dark background!
You have a very impressive gallery!
Congratulations!

Lise

I like the backwards S shape that the owl and stump make, and this angle shows off the colour on the back well, whilst keeping the eye contact.
