Hi my dear friend Howard,
Today my neighbour:). Excellent capture of this greylag goose in all aspects my friend. I also state that I am sharing your opinion on the nature and the main subject and goal of uploading this photograph is very significant! In addition these your capture is realy splendid. I will respect your wishes my friend, but would have loved to give this points, so it goes into my favourites!:-D
Many thanks for sharing and best regards,
Bayram
Hello Howard,
This is a fine capture but a very sad sight! It is horrible to see birds suffering but there are too many cruel men on this planet! What can we do - just suffer in silence I suppose as WWF and RSPB are trying to do their best but are having a loosing struggle against the bird hunters!
Thank you for showing this! Ulla
Hi Howard , this is a very sad sight to see , the wound looks to be from a nail shot from an air nail gun. if there is any type of management to this sanctuary, I hope that you will report this . I also hope the person who has done this is caught and punished for poaching in a protected area.
I respect your wishes not to point this picture , but would say that one main aim of photography is to elicit emotion and this certainly will elicit emotion from any one viewing it.
regards

Hi Howard.
It is so painful to watch the picture. I am very touched with your note and bird. What can we say in such cases? May be nothing. It is a life and in it we can not do all we want. I will wish that all would be OK.
Yours Alexei.

hello howard,
You're suprising me with a goose?
What the people not doing with birds and animals, a pity that people so are.
They are worst than animals, they are real pigs.
Good of clarity and details.

Hi Howard. Such a sad sight . I wonder what make some one do this sort of thing. I was with a young RSPCA person yesterday trying to capture a Mallard with a rubber ring around its neck . Nick..

Hello Howard,

Hello Howard,
My eyes are filled with tears as I write this!
I cannot understand the cruelty that is embedded in some people! I am so pleased that you attempted to help this innocent bird.
On the point of your photograph, it is excellent, full of detail and wonderful shades of colour. Thank you for this!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Howard,
This post makes me both angry and sad my friend, but thank you for posting it. Shows all is not harmoniuous and fine in the natural world, thanks to the usual cuplrit - man. A great shot in it's own right but as a reminder of the harsh realities wildlife faces in the modern world, it is priceless. Thanks for this truthful and poignant shot.

Who would do this?! What thing could have been going through thier mind when they decided to injure this poor goose.
We do enough terrible things to nature already... pollution, destruction of their habitat, taking them from their homes for pets, hunting... the list goes on.
This is a very powerful image.
Thankyou for posting it as well.
I hope people will stop and think before doing such a horrible thing next time.
Cheers Howard!

Howard,
The effect of the plumage is well returned. The goose seems peaceful.
Thank you for this portrait.

Hello Howard,
Alexei sums this up well, it is painful to see, and I applaud you for posting the image. So many times I've seen people who although find these kind of things hurtful to see will turn a blind eye rather than take a positive stand. Hopefully this serves as a reminder that this kind of behaviour will not go away if ignored, and this image should encourage people to speak out against this unspeakable and mindless cruelty.
Regards,
Adrian

Hi Howard,
it is true that there are some really scummy losers out there in the world,I wonder if they would like the same done to them?I once saw a person stamp to death an innocent and harmless garter snake so I punched the guy several times in the face and he stupidly asked why I did so,and I punched him again. This was when I was a teenager back in the '70s and not something I would do today-today I would just get a creep like that arrested and hopefully jailed instead. It is bad enough people harm and kill each other but to do that to that which is truly innocent is beyond evil.Despite how bad this looks the goose may be alright for I have seen worst and the animal lived with the object stuck inside for what was a normal lifetime, but that is not the point, the point is do not do this sort of thing to anything that lives. It doesn't look like an arrow however as it appears too small and the goose may of had an accident instead but still what ever it may be,it is of human origin and the goose should not have it in it's body, let's hope the goose will be alright. Bob

Hello Howard,
A sad capture showing one of the negative aspects of our species. One would have though that as it is in a wildlife sanctuary efforts would have been made to capture the goose and relieve it from this thoughtless act. Maybe....

Dear Howard,
I don't often get into the forums section but I'm glad I did today were I found the link to this.
Man’s inhumanity to man is bad enough but sites like this start to destroy my faith in human nature, how anyone can do this to a defenceless creature is far beyond my sense of reasoning.
They would have to live in such a dark place and have never seen the light of day and the wonders that have been created for all of our enjoyment.
All I can say to those less then human people is "open you eyes" come out of the dark and see the world in all its beauty.
Thankyou for a wonderful but very sad post.
