[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was up and out early this morning with some other TN members. We started the days shenanigans at Eyebridge in Wimborne. We walked down along the Stour River and were inundated with Damselflys and Dragonflies. Im sure that the others will be posting similar shots once they return, I cant wait to see. This I believe to be a Broad Bodied Chaser but I am not very up on the I.D of this type of thing so any help would be appreciated here.

With many thanks to Peter (Batu) I now believe this to be Libellula fulva.

Hello Jai,
you took the picture from a nice point of view and focused well on the body and the
right wings. Beautiful and pleasant natural colours.
I think that this is a female of Libellula fulva (family: Libellulidae).
Best wishes, Peter

Man o m,an...you just managed to crop that one close...and because of the tightness and the perch, you have given the creature a bit more stature than it does in real life...sort of a virtual reality show:-) Nicely done and very clear considering the unusual use of the natural light! Sharp as well!
Bob

Hello Jai,

Excellent sharp picture of this dragonfly. Excellent composition. Splendid light and colours. POV is ideal. Great background too.
Cheers,
Mariki

Hi Jai. Had a great day out ,You missed Paul Lawbert sinking in mud up to his knees in the forest. You got in first with this fine close up of the Dragonfly. Good detail and natural colours. Your use of the early morning light on the body gives it an extra glow. well done TFS.

Hi Jai,
you did a vey good job with the dragonfly,it's an unusual portait angle, very good lighting, all is razorharp. And we don't see this species often on TN! Well done.
Best regards
Dietrich

Excellent shot of this beautiful Scarce Chaser (this insect was the highlight of the day I think!).
Very detailed and pin-sharp.
Great POV too showing those immense wings really well.
Brilliant DOF too.
Well done Jai!
Good to meet you again :-)

Cheers,

Joe

Hello Jai
I missed this one on sunday..It was a real pleasure to meet you.
As for your old mans quote of me sinking up to my knees I can confirm by the mud line it was only half up the shin!!..It was proper funny though..all those cameras and not one pic of the moment!!
This shot though is splendid..The details you have got here are spot on and as sharp as you like..Its also nice to see a picture of one not on the branch..Well found and well captured.
All the best
Paul
