Hi Paul,
very impressive image!
I saw this on the camera LCD and this is basically straight from the camera which proves you don't need photoshop which is a very good thing to be able to do :-)
The weather may have been foul but it delivered some awesomely moody skies as you show here.
Great FG interest and fab lighting.
Superb contrast too.
Very well done!
Cheers mate,
Joe
p.s I'll keep you updated with the short-listed thing but I'm not expecting anything :-)

Hi Paul. This is a picture to keep for ever . I am sure you now have a good friend in Horia. And it will be interesting to see some of his pictures from our Dorset coat.
Your late eve picture on a very dull day has turned out well. You timing to capture what little light there was . Amazing colours in the sea and the bright yellow of the flowers. well done TFS.

Aaah, now you are really back in your element Paul, again the exaggerated perspective of the "Sigma 10-20 mm" creates a tremendous depth of field while the polarizer lets us see the sea bed details near the FG by eliminating some of the reflections from the sea surface. A beautiful land/seascape my friend!

I am of course sure Horia will love this...You and he share a very similar style of imaging....the difference being locations of course...but I can sense a good philosophical as well as photographic relationship..it works in photos...photos bring us together in so many ways...

Dear Paul,
So nice to see your landscapes again. I love this PoV with the clump of flowers that are in the FG and the dark looming clouds in the horizon.THe PoV is breathtaking and ican fell the air and the environment created by the mood. Those marks on the water seems to be the result of perhaps a speedboat that passed by and that adds to the drama of the composiiton.
TFS & Cheers

Hi Paul,
Very different from your warm colored sunset seascapes. But surely not less beautiful. I actually like this type of light even more. The overall grey scene is perfectly lifted up by the yellow flowers.
I realy like the lines in this photo. Not only the line of the cliff is pointing toward the horizon, the clouds point toward the same position.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Paul,
It's a very nice dedication for Horia. You were a bit unlucky about the weather, but as we can see from your photo you still can get very good photos despite the weather.
Exposure control is very good. Colors, contrast, scenery, POV,and composition look lovely.

hello Paul,
Magnificent view you show us here! You also have chosen an ideal point of view, giving sight on the close and the far. Really beautiful bunch of yellow flowers in the foreground, in contrast to the grey sky. Splendid!

Hi Paul
It sounds like you had a wonderful time and I bet Horia loved beautiful Dorset.
I love the weather in the shot with the dramatic dark clouds and the stormy light brining out the yellow. The light on the water is stunning

Hallo Paul
I do not have time to leave a proper critique; I do however want to tell you the combination of colours and features captured here is great. The yellow flowers on the foregroud, the alge on the rocks, the different colours and patterns in the water, the cloud filled sky and most of all the way you can look far back to the horizon. Makes you miss somebody you don't even know.
Well done, I think this is a great image. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards.

Beautiful Paul, like this a lot.
The weather may have been poor, but you've captured a certain mood that works..perhaps it's the shock of bright yellow flowers FG that gives one hope :)
Excellent depth, color, detail, comp, and exposure..You guys know where to stand ;}
Very well done,

Hi Paul
I am such an a$$! I completely forgot about this one! I'm soooo sorry.
I set it among my favorites (where it definitely belongs) also to remind me when i finish unpacking to comment on it...and it totally slipped my mind! My humble apologizes.
Anyway, this is a splendid shot and angle you found here!
The composition is in my opinion wonderful. It has just enough FG as it should, but also tones of depth and perspective.
The yellow flowers [what kind of cabbage were they again? :))] attract the viewer's eye very well and then lead it towards the horizon in the right side of the frame. Following the same line, you get to the ridge that takes you farther to the white rock, the center point of the shot and also the most important focal point. Afterwards, you find this lovely, deep and moody horizon and sky, that contrast with both the white rock and the yellow flowers, making a very aesthetic balance between darker and brighter tones.
Actually being there, i know it was windy and to get such a nice sharp shot of the flower also implied great timing and spot-on positioning. Congrats ti that, too.
Overall, with the incredible perspective that this view offers and the ultra wide agle of your lens, this is one of the best photos of the Old Harry's i've seen on the internet...no exaggeration!
BRAVOOOO! and TFS
Horia
PS: i blushed when i first read the note :)
