This shot was taken in the Yorkshire Dales taken during a short holiday in 1992.

As my friend and I drove through the countryside we would stop to take photos from the roadside. And as you can see the roads were very simple.

The Yorkshire Dales is an area of great natural beauty in northern England, a large part of which has been designated as one of England and Wales' protected national parks.

Britain's most famous long distance footpath, the Pennine Way passes through the Yorkshire Dales, as does the Settle - Carlisle Railway - one of Britain's most spectacular train journeys.

Tourism plays an increasing part in the life of the Yorkshire Dales today, having featured in several British television series and Hollywood films - including the Hollywood movie "Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves".

Tech: Scanned, cropped, resized for TN and sharpened. Brightness +3. Contrast +9. Selected sky and added more blue.

Very nice photo Andrew,
Nice landscape, I like the curl from the way upstairse, the colours are great, very good job you did.

Very nice to see this older photo from you, Andrew. It's a good impression from the Yorkshire countryside, well contrasted and with the road meandering through the frame providing an interesting leading line. Interesting info in your note that is appreciated by the movie buff in me :-)

I guess the transfer through scanning of the print has not been kind to an evocative scene well captured and well lit showing the rough surface of the moorland to good effect. Did you consider 'The Long and Winding Road' for a title? (Wrong county, I know!)

This is a old photo, Andrew, but staying also good, the road in the mountains is wonderful, excellent perspective, great landscape photo!

Long time no see on TN! And this is NOT from China as well. Quite a nice S-bend you have here, drawing the eye right into and across the frame, this is very well done. The small nit is time of day, but that's life, especially in UK weather

Good quality for a scan. I like the winding road through the beautiful countryside.
