Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hola Joe.
Some times is very interesting to see how birds can catch so many diffrent kind of food for the family, they have an exceelnt vision and are able to see small insects from a distant place.
You have here a fine close up of this elegant bird. the food on beak is a extra point Joe.
Have a nice weekend, and I hope You can take a lot of great photos like this one.

Yummy. Reminds me of Survivor, a reality TV show I watched at times...having heard all of the ancient stories about worms and such...people thousands of years ago eating them on a regular diet...and even today. but to me ...worms are for birds and fish...or yes and agriculture...but your bird is a fine close in of a daily routine. finely done...as always Joey!

Hi Joe,
Excellent close-up of a female Blackbird and mealworm. Extremely good sharp details, I especially like the reflections on her eye. If I look very carefully I can see you;) Very good composition, POV and DOF, colours are natural and BG is nicely blurred.
TFS
Best wishes,
Pekka
PS
I hope you will eventually get to Elmley Marshes and the weather will be good then. The place has never dissapointed me and I haven't even had a chance to explore the whole area. The best thing is there are very few other people even at weekends. There are many other good places though and even closer to where you live.

Hi Joe,
Great close up of this greedy-guts!
I can even see the windows of your house reflected in her eye!
I remember buying mealworms at the pet shop for my grass snakes and slow worm when I was at boarding school in London back in the 60's
I think they're click beetle larvae areen't they ?
Awesome shot!
Cheers
Steve

This is almost a macro of the face of a female Blackbird, the beak and eye being tack sharp.
