Hello Bev,
I really prefer to see birds in a natural environment but what can you do when they all choose airials, barbed wires and the like to sit on!! Robin's favourite perch seems to be the handle of a spade (at least according to Christmas cards!) Anyway, Robin looks lovely here with his nicely puffed up chest. Fine colours and details too.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla
Hello Bev
This is a lovely picture of of the so photogenic Robin which so many of us love...
The light is so nice illuminating his plump red breast and and casting a wonderful shadow from his beak.
Not using a tripod here doesnt matter as you used a rest which is the right thing to do...Mr Robin is a little unsharp and I would put that down to selecting the wrong focus point on the camera...Im not sure how the AF points work on The d70 but if you had of had the camera set up with just the centre AF point then the subject would have been spot on sharp..If you look at the left of the picture then that part is totally sharp as that is where the AF point took its focus from.....Also by using the centre AF point it uses the sharpest part of any lense which is the middle bit.
I always sound like Im moaning!!..Im really not Bev...Im just trying to share a little hard earned experience!!
My best Regards
Paul

Your favorite Bev and always beautifully captured. Very good exposure of the plumage by the light cutting through the frame. I like the sharpness and detail of this stunning perch. Very well done and thanks for sharing. Best regards. Jusni
