How is it that the thistle or perch is oof and the butterfly is spot on? that is a trick I have yet to learn....and since it is this way, it almost forces ones eye to the subject without distraction. by chance perhaps? Very nice.

I'm glad your butterflies are reappearing - not many here yet. A beautiful Meadow Brown on the thistle. I love the open flower with the buds. The butterfly has wonderful colors, shades and textures. Details of the head and wings are excellent. Pretty picture and I like the frame.

The thumbnail doesnt do this capture justice at all.
This capture is fine and sharp in a superb setting on the just blooming thistle...It seems like you had a good day and I reckon theres one or two more on the card that are just as good.

Hi Nicholas!

It's always good to have a day off... As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't mind to have them all off... I could retire at any moment, I wouldn't get bored at all. Who knows, maybe I even would start to take close-ups of butterflies. But if I would reach your quality I had to get a lot of excercise... This picture simply is marvellous, the colours are delightful and the notes very interesting.

The entire composition is a treat for the eyes, Nick.
The thistle flower on which the butterfly is perched is a significant component of this balanced creation.
The noiseless green BG does wonders to the appeal of this image.
