Hello,

Yes, another sunset shot, sorry! Taken from the same spot as my last post, namely Batley View in the New Forest.
This one does not have any of the clouds that featured in my last post unfortunately, as they had moved on by the time the sun had dipped behind the horzon, but it also doesn't have the glare of the sun either and the deep red of the clouds is quite nice too. The difference in light levels and colouration in such a short time is quite amazing. This one has alot less drama than the previous shot and feels alot less 'in your face' to me. However, in terms of saturation and colour tone, i think i prefer it.

PP: shot in RAW, a tweak of curves, an increase of stauration of + 6 and shadows lightened a touch. converted to JEP, resized and sharpened.

Hope you like it and have a great weekend everyone...

Hi Paul,
why sorry, as you know sunsets/rises change with in seconds giving different views. then this is just another day. only thing is there is nothing intersting in the foreground, which you could have avoided to concentrate on the clouds and its reflections. it would have been more stunning. TFS.

Hi Paul!

I wish you a nice weekend, too, and many nice pictures!

It's always a little bit "dangerous" to present two similar pictures or pictures from the same spot one after the other (I just have made the same). The spectator tends to compare and to prefer this or the other one. Hmm, I can't decide so I just look at this picture as if it would stand alone.

I like it; the colours are fabulous. It's a beautiful, yet classic sunset picture. I miss a little bit the sparkle that lits the fire, something else than the beautiful colours that attracts my eye. Maybe you have spoiled me as a spectator with spectacular views and foregrounds. Maybe I am somehow arrogant and ask too much... ! Yes, must be that...

Kind regards

Markus

Ciao Paul!
It's an interesting and a beautiful composition. I like the scenery, light, colors, and contrast.

Greetings,
Marco

England should hire you on as official photographer..or the Queen should anoint you some such. You have taken what I had always thought to be a wet and many times drab country in my mind and turned it into something out of a storybook in colours, vastness and beauty. Fine work Paul...Absolutely a man after my own mind!

Hi Paul!

Sorry? No reason to apologize :-) Another beautifull moment in great place. This time looks slightly apocalyptic, but still great.

Hi Paul,

not sorry for another sunsetpicture, this is a real beautiful and coloured photo.
Nice pov and beautiful reflections on the water.

Hello Paul

That tree is magnificent and really stands out for me.
The colours are wonderful and the reflections and silhouettes are terrific.
A lovely composition. This really appeals to me.
The shot has a definite flow to it a nice wavy, curvy feel.

Hi Paul, I missed this one... that is some horizon, the reflection looks as hot!!! good colours and an excellent POV. The fore ground diagonal and the receding diagonals just give this image such a lot of interest. fine work.

Hey Brotha!
I do find your signature style imprinted all over the shot, but my question to you is, does it have the normal aesthetics of your shots? If it would have been someone else's shot,Paul, I'd have just said it's a wonderful shot(which it is) and moved on.But if we look at it as your shot,it falls slighly, very slightly short on the aesthetics front!
Have a lovely weekend!
Goldy

Hi Paul,
Great to see a diversity in your photos. It show how much wonderful nature you have so close to your home. The orange in the clouds is realy powerful and you must consider yourself lucky to have such a great sky that evening. The exposure is wonderful, there is still so much detail in the FG and shaded areas.
Well, I'm off to Norway and hope to return with a few nice shots.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Paul, Is it two image or single image. very well done. The reflection are brilliantly shot and great lighting. ganesh

Hello Paul,

This is not 'another old sunset', this is a bit different! You have captured a very distinct contrast between the f/g which looks to be lit with a normal, afternoon light, and the b/g which is definitely a warm, sultry sunset!
Lovely composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Paul, I like it a lot too and I think you are right... the other one is fantastic but has a more "illustration" look whereas this one is more like a picture... that you could frame or exhibit. I recognize England here, the England I am dreaming of knowing. The vast pastures with beautiful mature trees, fantastic light, some water. This photo has almost a celtic touch to it, or we feel the ancient history of your country. Something reminding me Salisbury at its beginning. Why is that so???!!! In any case, thank you again for this beautiful shot,

Francine
