The wheatear is a small mainly ground-dwelling bird. It hops or runs on the ground. It is blue-grey above with black wings and white below with an orange flush to the breast. It has a black cheek. In flight it shows a white rump and a black 'T' shape on its tail. It is a summer visitor and passage migrant. Birds breed mainly in western and northern Britain and western Ireland, although smaller numbers do breed in southern and eastern England. It winters in central Africa.
Where to see them
In the breeding season, best looked for on upland suitable habitat in northern and western Britain. May be seen on passage at coastal migration watchpoints and inland.
When to see them
March to October
What they eat
Insects and larvae.

I agree with Paul that the focus on the bird is a little soft, but I really like your composition and the colours and light are lovely.

Hi Les , welcome to TrekNature , your photo has good color , composition , and a nice catch light in the birds eye , but as mentioned is a bit soft , could stand a bit of sharpening.
I am not sure which page it is mentioned on here on TN , but images uploaded here tend to display a little bit softer , so giving a slight amount of extra sharpness helps photos to display a bit better ;-)

Hi Les,
welcome to TN. Very nice light and colour in this one, with a good composition too. The focus seems a little soft, but it's a very nice shot nonetheless, well done, hope to see more!
