Good Morning Everyone,

This morning, I am posting a shot of a wild rose that I took last month. It was growing alongside the canal and was making a very beautiful, temporary garden for someone who had moored their narrowboat alongside it.

I find that wild roses seem to have very different characters. The last one I photographed had much bigger flowers which were quite demure in the way the petals incurved. This one was so extrovert! All the flowers had petals which were wide open, extrovert, waving their stamens to every passing bee!

Here is some interesting information about wild roses from gardenaction.co.uk:
From the coolest white rose to the very hottest red rose, all the roses we grow in our gardens today are the product of more than a staggering 70 million years of change.

We know this from fossil records dating back to that time. Roses now come in many sizes and shapes - from the tiny miniature roses at only 10cm (4in) high, to the lofty climbers reaching up to the tops of trees.
To the left is the old white rose 'Agnes'.

Wild Roses
These are the parent roses of all other roses, found growing in the wild. Most have small single flowers with five petals. The colours are normally pink, rose, yellow or white rose. Wild roses are very hardy and grow as largish bushes or climbers. They are very resistant to disease and pests. The flowers appear only briefly in early summer, often followed by attractive red hips in autumn.

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to offer fedback on any aspect of the photograph.
Bev :-)

Hi Beverley!

I believe that there are many different kinds of wild roses, too. I also believe that the composition of the earth where they are growing and the exposition to the sunlight influence on their aspect.

Your picture is beautiful, it shows us the wild rose in a perfect compsosition, with a great colour- and lighting management.

Kind regards

Markus

Another stunningly beautiful flowers picture from you, Beverley, my neighbour on the gallery today.
The composition is very attractive in every respect, especially colours. I love these pink wild roses.
In the Himalayas, I have seen wild roses growing like creepers. Most of them bear whitle flowers that emit a heady fragrance during spring and early summer.
TFS and best regards.

Hi Bev, an other fascinating composition flower with fantastic colors, excellent sharpness, elegant presentation, very well done, have a good sunday, ciao Silvio

Hello Beverly,
a great photo of these wild roses. The details in the petals are fantastic. Light and contrasts work well together and I love the way of your presentation with that rose on the right being a part of the frame. The colour of the frame matches the petals in a great way. The sharpness of the stamens is perfect.
I love this shot.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
Britta

Now that's a wild rose for sure....Now lovely...not exactly a simple frame, but not a bad one...actually it helps bring out the flora a bit better in almost a third dimension Bev. Very nice!

It seems you were in Rose Red Light! ;-)) Your picture is sensational, I love the details and the nice frame with the petal getting over it. Very beautiful making for a composition with lots of grace and balance. The dof is nice here too, we can see the roses and their leaves quite well, with a lot of details. The nice is superb and exposure spot on, thank you!

What a beautiful wild rose. They are usually grow so strong and seem to have immunity to the usual rose diseases our garden roses get.
It's a lovely photo Bev. Those stamens are so nice and sharp, and the colours on the petals show up all the patterns
Well done
Janice

Hi Beverley,
Beautiful composition.

Bonjour Bev,
Que doit-on admirer le plus dans tes publications : la mise en valeur du sujet, la précision et la finesse des détails ou la somptuosité des couleurs ? C'est tou simplement splendide.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
