Hello,
after a weekend of poor light and various committments, i finally managed to escape into the sunshine for a few hours with my camera this evening ending up here, at Hengisbury Head.
This is the view north into Christchurch Harbour, just below the summit with the sun setting fiercely in the west. The combination of Purple Heather and golden Sandstone was way too much to resist, so i took a few shots, hope you like it.

Shot in RAW, increased saturation + 4, curves, converted to JPEG, resized and sharpened.

Thanks for looking..

Hello Paul,
This is a wonderful play with the evening light. I like very well the contrast between the golden sand and the sky. The DOF is perfect. TFS,

Hi Paul,

A lovely composition, and I find the boosted color works for me, reminds me of some of the slide films with high color saturation.

Thanks,
John

Hi Paul!

Beautifull place at right moment with magical light. Saturated colours look awesome. I like light&shadows play and small details like red flowers.

Hi Paul,
Don't you have wind there???? Here you have shown the exposure is 25 secs still then the bushes and the grass plants on the foreground are tack sharp. This puzzles me often with long exposures. Anyway lovely composition and beautiful colors. Thanks a lot for sharing.

A real delight for the eyes, Paul!
The evening light makes the the sand and the blooming heather glow, a warm contrast to the darkness in the north where Dorset meets Hampshire and part of the coast unknown to me. Great sky too!
TFS this landscape beauty,
Ivan

Hello Paul,

Hey Paul!
Really incredible image!
The warmth of it is really good.
Very clear and sharp.
Perfectly composed as usual.

Fantastic work mate!

Cheers,
Joe

p.s I might be camping near Bournemouth soon, I'd love to have a go at some seacapes while I'm there, where do you think is the most photogenic place?

Very apt title to this beautiful evening landscape picture in vertical orientation, Paul.
Right from the foreground to the cloudy horizon, the depth of view is marvellous.
I love the colour tones created by the mellow sun.
TFS and regards.

Hi Paul,
I like this landscape shot with the faraway cloud bank, the estuary and the "ignited" foreground. Radomir (cicindela) has dedicated a great Irish shore picture to you, a fitting landscape contrasting counterpart.
Best regards
Dietrich

Hi Paul
First of all beautiful light. Great title. Perfect composition with plant in foreground and fantastic 3-dimensional view. I like it very much

Hi Paul

Another great shot from you, mate!
The colors here are absolutely fascinating - all very deep and strong, almost like it's taken somewhere in Africa :)
The strong contrast between the sand in the FG and the water and sky from the FG is really impressive and it definitely draws attention.
The vertical compo is also wonderful and the round flower bush near you is a splendid FG element and complements the upper part of the photo very well.
So, another great shot is every way, my friend!

Bravo and TFS

Hello Paul,
Wow, the light is fantastic here and I love your low POV. I'm glad you made it while the sun was shining as those clouds in the distance look rather menacing. Excellent DOF, fine sharp details and wonderful colours. A very beautiful coastal landscape!
TFS and have a nice weekend, Ulla

Hello Paul,

A great shot so in the evening light. They are mostly the perfect photo's. The soft light and very strong colours make this photo a beauty. Good compo, pov, dof and BG.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice weekend and tFS BOB

Very good one, Paul.
I want to underscore the natural lighting(!), nicely done foreground, well composed, well applied Cokin grad, etc.
Well done overall!
TFS

Hi Paul,
I hope that you don't mind that I have to say that the saturation on this photo looks too much. I am curious, do you calibrate your monitor? I noticed that you add saturation in your RAW, this does not allow you to add only saturation to a single color nor does it allow you take small steps. have you considered to add it in Photoshop? Beside the color issue, the quality and composition of the photo are wonderful. I like how you combined FG interst with a stunning BG.
TFS,
Niek
