[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I think this is a cinquefoil,or it could be one of the spearworts..or a butterecup!!! but not certain..I cannot find a good reference to this as yet.. the flower is about 4-5mm across, not fully in bloom, grows on chalksoil/dry grassland, lies prostrate amongst other greenery, clover and plantain.

Any ID would be helpful...

Hello Howard,
Many thanks for your kind words on my 2years on TN!
This flower is a real brain-teaser. I can only say what I don't think it is: not a cinquefoil or buttercup and the petals of a spearwort are more rounded and the flowers are larger.
A real mystery but the image is sharp and taken from a fine POV so that an expert should be able to ID it.
Any way this is an excellent macro that deserves more attention.
TFS this beauty,
Ivan

it looks like Oxalis corniculata, TFS Ori

Hola Howard,
Una bella composición para esta pequeña florecilla que nos muestras con gran definición en sus detalles, suave y agradable iluminación, con unos colores que resaltan y contrastan muy bien con el fondo, gracias por compartirla, saludos
José Ramón
