Parasitic Wasp (Diplazon laetatorius)
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
One of the most common parasitic wasps in Europe is Diplazon laetatorius. The eggs are laid in the pupae of various hover flies, especially species belonging to the Tenax-group (Drone Flies). Even though it is very common, it is not often seen by people. When you do spot it, look at it carefully, because it is a beautiful animal indeed!

Hello Leslie. Welcome to TN with this excellent post. I like the sharp detail from underneath in very good perch hanging on that small pole. I can see that you are well equipped with nature capture and you have silenced the background really well here with the macro optics. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Merhaba Leslie!
Öncelikle TN' ye hoşgeldin diyorum. Çok başarılı bir makro çalışmasıyla giriş yapmışsınız. Oldukça detaylı bir böcek karesi olmuş. Elinize sağlık.

Very interesting creature, even if not very friendly (at least for caterpillars ;>). I like details and sharpness in this photo. Also the pose of wasp is nice for watching.
