Hi,
Autumn has started to colour the landscape around us, probably my favorite time of the year, combinations and variety of textures and colours are endless, looking forward to capture the beauty of this very special season. This one is for a start, taken not far away from Forres in Moray-shire, Scotland. The place is called 'Randolph's Leap' and it's the River Findhorn captured here. Beautiful gorge and river with dark reddish water surrounded by picturesque forest with birch, oak and scots pine trees. Very intersting eroded rock formations. It can be very dangerous too, steep slopes, slippery grounds and strong flows especially after some rain. Two flood stones can be found here marking the height of water during the great Moray flood in August 1829. Highly recommended to visit and photograph if you are in this area.

Photo stitched from 5 vertical shots, RAW mode, tripod and CPL filter to cut reflections in the water. The larger version is still just a small preview of the original image which is over 8000 pixels @ 300 dpi long.

Hello Tomasz,
Thanks for posting the larger image. The 800 pixel limitation for the standard page really limits the appreciation of this image. The long exposure provides that "silky" effect on the flowing water. Very rugged riverbed.
Regards,
Greg

Hej!

Super wygląda duza wersja. Fajna kompozycja, dobry czas.

Vera.

Witaj Tomaszu!

Piękne dynamiczne ujęcie - bardzo dobrze dobrany czas otwarcia migawki. Efektowny szeroki kadr. Zawodowe!

pozdrawiam

Quite reminicent of my own native place in the Himalayas, Tom.
Once again with planning and forethought, you have captured the flow of water from an impressive point of view. The long exposure has created a wonderful 'feel' of the flowing water, though I personally prefer to shoot it tumbling headlong.
Superb colours, composition and depth of view.
TFS and regards.

Oh Tomasz - how wonderful to see the stream flowing like this. I like your panorama - superb display.
The long exposure shows off the water so well, and the colours are so natural - I'm impressed

great photo. The panaromic format is an unusual choice for a river, but I feel you made it work really well here. It gives the photo a dramatic, but original feel to it. great slow shutter speed for the water and excellent definition for the rest. I really like it.

Hi Tomasz,
I have been to this river as well. But I have a feeling much more down stream because the river was wider and deeper. The panorama format is very original and it wouldn't have come to my mind to capture a river this way. I need to remind myself to try it. The roughness of the entire view is spectacular. I love the colors and the wonderful details. I'm going to add this photo to my favorites so I will not forget it.

Niek
