Hello neighbour Nick,
Very good photo of this Greenfinch. The pose is great, looking into the camera. Very sharp, but a littlebit noisy on some places (f.i. the beak). Excellent clear colours, also in the OOF BG. Perfect POV and composition.

If we have these, I have never seen one..I have seen yellow which looks mighty simialr...Very sharp as are all of your fine images...I don't think I have EVER seen one which was not worthy of posting..

A great capture of this greenfinch in a nice pose,background looks great although I agree (like peter,that there are some spots of noise,it might be due the postprocessing),anyway worth while posting,here as well grey,dull and wet weather at the moment,regards,

I love the same toning colors throughout this image. It makes for such a unified image. I like the diagonal, the subject placement and the pose very much. Technically it looks perfect to me!

Hi Nicholas,

What a fine photo with this bird. I like the pose of the bird in the moment you took the photo making the image very dinamic. This feeling is enhaced by the diagonaly placed perch. The plumage of the bird is shown in nice color tones blending well with the blurry background.

It's good to be back and I see I have missed a lot. Came back to Tucson and have only seen doves! You are right - this Greenfinch does look angry. Great shot of him in a wonderful pose on the tree as he looks over his shoulder. Colors and details of his face and plummage are wonderful. A perfect background and composition.

The pose, the POV, the BG, composition and lighting all contribute to the appeal of this image of a male Greenfinch. Maybe a little oversharpeneing has resulted in a bit of noise but this only means that this portrait is a little short of perfection!
