[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was more of an experimental shot with my Canon 75-300 zoom which I'm quite pleased with. I never use this lens for macro only my kit lens which means me having to be almost on top of things.

I took this shot at a distance of about 6-7 ft and its a 100% crop from a bigger image. I was pleasantly surprised it performed this good. OK, I know its a little soft but considering the poor light and it was hand held at 60 sec at 300mm.

I may use this more often for some of those shots where you can't get to close as to miss the shot.

Blue Bottle Flies are from the Blow Fly family. They are larger than house flies, growing about half an inch long. Their head and thorax (front and middle sections) are gray, the abdomen (large rear section) is bright metallic blue. They have red eyes and clear wings.

Blue Bottle Flies live just about anywhere, including woods, fields, parks, and farms. They seem to prefer shady places. Blue Bottle Flies often enter homes.

Nice capture Stephen,
Good sharp details, good colours, DOF and nicely composed.
Surely you mean 1/60th sec (not 60 seconds!!)
Thanks for posting, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Wow, Stephen! A Fly ;-) I like brown tones of BG, fly itself also looks very good. Quality is quite good for 100% crop.

Hello Stephen, A well composed macro with good details, colors and light. The focus is a bit soft but certainly not distracting Stephen ;-) Well done.
