[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Meerkats are fairly small mammals weighing about 2 lbs. each. Length from the head to the tip of the tail is about 20 inches with the tail itself is about 8 inches long. Meerkats' noses prodtrude from their faces and at are 2-3 inches long. Like felines, meerkats have binocular vision, a large peripheral range, depth perception, and eyes that sit on the front of their faces.

Inside a meerkat's "snout," there are tiny teeth, mainly used for taking a bite out of its prey. Occasionally, though, it may end up using it to snap at intruders (more on that later.) At the end of each of a meerkat's "fingers" are one, non-retractable claw. They are black and about 3 or 4 cm long.

Hi Stephen, great shot of Meerkats... I was in the Zoo today, and guess what... most of the Meerkats are hiding in the warm holes and stay next to the spot light to get warm. :) This is awesome shot, excellent DOF, composition and details! Well done... thanks for sharing

Beautiful & interesting shot for this funny animal ! I like its pose, he seems angry here ;-) Thanks for sharing Stephen.

Its a lovely and unusual POV Stephen. Where you in the cage with it? My only nit is the ring of PP work noticable around the eye. Great DOF and depth. Very well done.
