Taken at the new RSPB open day in Rainham. Sat down by a hide waiting for anything to fly by but could only manage this dragon fly near small pond. Used Nikon Fieldscope with Attachment for D100.

Lens: 1000mm f/13, 1/180sec ISO 400.

Excelente captura en vuelo Demetrio, por su tamaño (impresiona ver al insecto tan cercano), nitidez y colorido.

Great capture Demetrio. This is a Migrant Hawker (Aeshna mixta). It's a great capture and it's very rewarding when the patience pays off like this. Well done.

This is one of the best digi-scopped images I've seen most seem very grainy but this is OK and shows the detail well.
People here might be intrested in having more details about the set-up and how to use it.
Paul is spot on as usual with his ident.

I know how hard it is to capture one of these in motion, so I commend you for getting this one so well. The movement on the wings is very good.

Excellent!!! i 'm discovering your pic just now, and i'm stocked, I find so difficult to capture dragonflies when they are down the ground or on a branch, so here having done this pic while flying. Incredible for me!! Sharpness is not perfect but you can see details without problems. What is suprising me is that you only use a 1/80 speed, i thought you had use a 1/2000 speed to froze the mouvement. I guess Camera and lens you use make difference. Great picture, Great job!!

I think this one can be digitaly improuved, Demetrio. Look for my WS.
Thanks
