[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my second post of the Owl butterfly which better shows its redeeming feature. The patterns on the wings of this Owl butterfly closely resemble the eyes and face of an owl, scaring off any potential predators.

When disturbed, the butterfly exposes its "owl eyes" to the would be predator which are often small insect eating animals that are themselves preyed upon by owls and have a healthy respect for anything that resembles an owl.

Nice follow up Stephen showing the rest of the insect. It is such a lovely insect. The patterns on the wing breathtaking. The details and the composition is also good. Great work.

I like to see this one, the whole pic of the butterfly I was wondered with. This is a nice picture, but Sthepen, after posting the magnificent first one... You should have done in the opposite order :)
