[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is a shot of a female Emperor Dragonfly Anax imperator depositing her eggs.

The female in this shot is ovipositing unaccompanied and this is the normal mode for this species. However, tandem oviposition has been observed. She will make frequent, rapid and high flights between ovipostion sites which are often far from the water's edge. Whilst looking she will hover to select a site and if she is approached by a male she will curve her abdomen ventrally while in flight or spiralling downwards. The eggs have a blade-like cone at the anterior edge are laid in aquatic plants near the water's surface. The eggs will hatch in around three weeks and generally a generation is completed in 1 - 2 years, dependent on weather and when the eggs were laid.

I hope you like it.

A very dificult job!
Great shot of this Nature's moment!
5* photo!

Excellent POV you must have been wading through the waters to get this one Paul. Love the smooth look of the water and refection. Very nice work.

Wonderful shot. Paul National Geographic material.
Absolutely perfect clarity,composition and colour.
You can't get much better than this. Excellent!

Hello Paul,
I am numb... this photo is really beautiful, so sharp and so soft, where needs to be... Thanks
Sarolta

Bonsoir Paul,
Superbe composition, le reflet de la libellule sur cette eau tranquille est du plus bel effet, les couleurs très naturelles. Moment très rare.
Amicalement;
Martine

What I love about this one is the low level of the POV and the soft green light a very poetic image.
What sort of distace was she from you? and what sort of hieght above the water was the camera set at?

Great picture Paul.
Fantastic and new in TN.
I am still enjoying now, and for a while more :D
Thanks very much.

hi, Paul,
that's really strong! amazing details. fantastic colours, absolutely fantastic reflection. very successful pov! you did a great job here. congratulations

Great Capture.
Not easy I suppose.

Nice low perspective and good clarity of detail considering the use of the x2 connverter, well presented work as always Paul.

Hi Paul, I missed this one, what a pity, it is marvelous. This wonderful reflection in the water. I like the dark atmosphere, only the dragonfly is in the light with excellent sharpness. A perfect shot, thanks

I was browsing some shots taken with a teleconverter, and I came across this one of yours. It's a very good close up and the reflection in the water is just lovely.
Does the converter attach to the camera first, and then the zoom lens? I have so much to learn Paul.
