Wow, great shot. Love the colors agains the seemingly BW background. Did you PS it or is that the real BG? Looks almost kinda snowy :)

Hello Sean,

great shot. What is this for a plant?
I like the Contrast. Good job and TFS.

This is Peacock Butterfly (Inachis io). Very common in all Europe. Larvae feed on Urtica dioica.

Great picture!
Very good colour and sharpness, excellent BW background.
TFS!

Hello Sean

Congrats on a fantastic presentation. Nice colours on the b'fly. Focus is soft but IMO it works well with the desaturated BG. Nice! Thanks.

It's an Inachis io!
The peacock butterlfy.
Rare in Portugal.
A bit soft on focus.

Hi Sean,
Good detail and colours. Great POV and sharpness.
Nicely composed and good exposure.
Thanks for posting. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Hello Sean,
just discovered that picture featured on TN's frontpage: outstandingly beautiful arrangement and colour composition. The greyish green background is an excellent setting for the rich, warm colours of the butterfly. Maybe a little bit of selectively lighting up the butterfly would show even more details of the wings and body. Delightful shot, certainly one of the most impressive ones of the many I have seen from that pretty species. Thank you!
Best regards, Peter
