Oh Julia, what a sad day for your birthday. I am sorry for you and your family. I hope you are ok. I'm sure Uncle Peter will have loved this shot of the caterpiullar - I though it was a snake at first.

This is a great shot of a big fat finger, very clear and well detailed. good colours and sharpness. Nicely composed and well captured.

Hi Julia, This is a lovely shot. I love the different tones of brown and the sharpness is superb. You chose a nice DOF and composition, I like it. Apropos of my post on forum - I may post mine later, it is the green version and less colourful I think but still interesting to look at. TFS and very well done :)

I didn't read the bit about your birthday and uncle until now. I'm sorry you lost someone you clearly loved Julia. I hope you can enjoy your birthday as you know he would have wanted you to. *hug*

Hi Julia, very nice shot. I always think these look like a snake's head or sometimes a puppy! The focus is good on the head and very good exposure and composition. Good note too.

Hi Julia,
this is an excellent shot, showing the distinctive "dangerous beast" snake mimikry of an elephant hawkmoth caterpillar in a most impressive and straightforward way. Staring wide open eyes and an open mouth with two poison teeth are surprisingly well imitated, and you have shown that stunning phenomenon from a perfectly chosen point of view with crisp and clear details and rich colours. Great!
