[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This little fella was part of a consigment being imported into Britain. Other than that he (she) is a Gecko I'm afraid I don't know the species. The even green of the background is the 'lab' coat of a veterinary worker who was checking on their health who conveniently paused behind the animal whilst I was taking photographs.

What I found out during my visit was that reptiles are traded in their thousands and that many of these are wild caught or taken in their country of origin.

Unfortunately conditions for their transport are not always good and many arrive in poor health or even dead.

This photo was taken with flash, and a 50mm macro lense whilst the gecko posed on the edge of a vivarium. He seemed quite at ease and wasn't bothered by my presence. I made a few similar studies of snakes and reptiles.

Hi Phil, I really doubt it is a gecko. Rather skink, I would say. Otherwise a great portrait. Do you have a more general picture of this specimen? TFS! Michal
