Something a little different today.

This picture is from the 1st day of this year. I took a trip to Kimmeridge Cove and the weather was very interesting. There was cold and rain, overcast conditions, huge billowing clouds, blue skys, wind and warmth. There was even a rainbow, it wasn't there for long so I had to make the most of the conditions and this was a bestcomposition I could come up with in the time available.

In the foreground are some rock ledges - Miles thinks the texture looks like elephant hide, I have to agree with him.

Personally, I like the vertical panorama crop, I guess it won't be to everyones taste but I hope you like it just the same.

Hi Paul, nice composition with good perspective and texture. I like the curve of the rock face and the rainbow is an added bonus. TFS.
Dean.

Hi Paul,

I really like his vertical panorama. The texture of the rock are impressive. I like the light and the colors. I do see a strange cloud in the left top, just infront of the rainbow. It's probably real, but it feels strange, but not stange enough to dislike the overall photo.
TFS,
Niek

I don't know for sure, Paul.
the quality of the shot is very good, the details are super. To give an opinion, I must see the whole shot. Then I can say you did it good or not. So it is it is not bad.

Hi Paul,
I like the portrait mode, ir really works here.
Fantasic colours and texture of the rocks.
It's not easy to catch the rainbow with all colours but you manage very well.
Excellent work.

Hello Paul,

I am dumbstruck by the contrast of this image of a lovely rainbow, (the promise of God...) and the barren wasteland below, which indeed, does appear like elephant hide...

A thought-provoking composition, with excellent details, lighting, POV.

Well done and thank you!

Unusual post Paul,
Good detail, colours and sharpness.
I can't make my mind up about the vertical crop. I'll have to keep having a look back at this image to decide!! I still think it's worth a big smiley though.
Thanks for posting, have a great end to the week.

Very nice shot Paul. Great colours and atmosphere. This is a very nice composition. Very well done. Thank you for posting.
Greetings,
Heinz

Hi Paul,
Brilliant composition!
Excellent sharpness, good details and lovely rainbow.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Paul,
It's a lovely picture. I don't think it's possible to see a rainbow in Poland at this time of the year. Do you think this is normal in England?
As for the framing. Well, I like it a lot. It's unusuall, but works really well. Love the composition and golden colours of the rocks.
VERY WELL DONE!

Good shot Paul,Lovely lines, detail and warmth to this.Love the added touch of the rainbow.
Andrew.

Hi Paul!

Impressive work. You were lucky to see all these views in one day. Rainbow always looks good on photos, but this one is special. I love POV and DOF with space from FG to horizon. Textures on surface also are superb. And colours... Everything perfect.
ps. I saw your landscapes on TE - this is what I call big progress!

The vertical panorama works for me Paul!
A lot of talent lies in the eye of the one who captured this shot...;-)
Well done!

Hi Paul.

Great postal, magnific composition, very nice colors and contrast.

Saludos desde MEXICO...RICARDO.

What an awesome landscape the texture is just amazing, the lighting was perfect for this shot plus the rainbow is quite the bonus. :)

A great lead in to a beautiful sky + lovely rainbow as well...

Hi Paul, as Kimmeridge is on about 20 miles from my house, i just never seem to get there at a good time when the tides out with good weather and the Army not closing that section because they are shooting,
Well captured love the portrait version and yes it does look like elephant skin.
Regards
Mike
