[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Blue Clipper (Parthenos sylvia lilacinus) is a member of the Nymphalidae family. Commonly found in South Thailand and Malaysia it prefers the plain areas and forest edge.

It has a wingspan up to 3 1/2 inches (8.5-9.0 cm). The color at the forewing dorsum and hindwing basal areas are a brilliant lilac blue colour. The larvae eat Adenia palmata and Tinospora cordifolia.

Hi Stephen,
Excellent light and colour. Wonderful detail, and I think the shallow (ish) DOF accentuates that and draws the eye in to the body. The exposure is perfect, the details on the underside of the wing clearly visible. Great shot!
