| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken this evening on the side of the cannal that runs through the heart of Nottingham City centre, just to prove that true wildlife can be found anywhere if you go out and look for it, in this case it was behind the large Sainsburys Super market where I had just part with hard earned loot for a morsel of food. On getting out it was a lovely sunny evening so I dragged the camera and tripod out and walked out of the carpark and down the cannal tow path a few metres to this patch of Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata) which was in a shelted spot between some Blackthorn Bushes getting the last of the evening sun and this Tiny Hoverfly was getting a last feed, Definatly a platycheirus specie but which one ,hope some body can help please?
Which brings me to another observation. This was Shot on the Sandisk 1gb extreme III compactflash card which I filled and swapped back to my usual 2gb one, on getting home the images on the 2gb one were all a little bit soft while the ones on the 1gb card seemed a great deal sharper, though they were both shot at the same settings. any idears or thoughts about this.
Thank you for Looking and hope you can help? |

Robert,
You are right. One need not Travel & Travel to find BEAUTY. It is ALL AROUND US.
This image has CLARITY. Well focused with excellent POV & DOF.
Very sharply contrasted colours of the velvet green,
PURE white & light brownish of the insect.
Interesting presentation.
Best regards,
Mario.
