First of all sorry I haven't been around much lately but I have been busy with the birth of my new daughter, Amy. Finally got a break from dirty nappies so decided to revisit the Stonnall Tree. For those who didn't see my original post taken in April Click here I have taken it from a different angle but as you can see this time of year it looks completely different. Local rumour has it that this tree is sitting on an ancient burial ground and they refer to it as Grove Hill.

I used a Hoya Circ Poloriser, cropped and adjusted the levels slightly.

Best Wishes :-)

Hi Dean
Nice landscape shot. Like your composition. Great colours, details, sharpnes, DOF and POV. Also beautiful sky colours.

Hello Dean,
Well documented the past of time in your images.
Nice different view, with pale colours and good framing. This image is not bad, but I like more april picture :-)
Best regards
Hernán

Well congratulations! No apologies necessary!

This image is very different from the leafless version. Thanks for the comparison. It's a nice simple composition, well exposed and the use of the polariser is nice...not overdone as sometimes they tend to be.

Thanks for sharing and OOO & XXX for Amy! (oh...that means hugs and kisses)

Evelynn : )

Hello Dean,
It is so nice to see the fine old tree now putting on green summer coat!
Well composed again, and this time with an attractive summer sky as background...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Dean,
A bit of a late one last night (work not fun!!). Just time for a very quick visit.
Thanks for posting, well worth a big smiley.

Congratulations on the birth of Amy

Hi Dean

Very nice catch I must say. I like how you place the tree on the left part of your frame. The sky is fantastic. Good job from your polarizer. I think a bit more lighting would be nice.

Hi Dean,
Congratulations with the birth of Amy. I hope that both she and the mom are doing fine. O, and you ofcourse as well.
I just love the simplicity of this photo. I am always amazed by the single tree photos. The colors and composition are excellent and the exposure is spot on.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Dean,
Bussy time! A new daughter is a great event!
Lovely landscape. Beautiful composition with this majestic alone tree.
TFS José M.

PS. I have two daughters too. But they are 21 & 24 years old. I know what you say about dirty nappies:-)

It is indeed a very different view, but I still like it a lot. The image is nice and detailed thanks to its sharpness allowing us to see much texture in the grass and the tree itself. The tree really does stand out against the blue sky with wisps of cloud. Very nice work.
Best wishes
Uncle Mark
