[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A view on the road between Langholm and Eskdalemuir in Dumfries & Galloway. This area has large tracts of land given over to forestry.Besides forestry the economy here also depends on upland farming. There is a very low population density. However, one of the places where the population has increased over the last twenty years has been at the Samye Ling Buddhist Centre. It is the river Esk in the foreground.

I'm from the Scottish Borders myself so always great to see images that remind me of home!

I like the general composition here, but maybe the building is a little too centred? Nice image though!

Hello Bev!
My native land in the mountains of India resembles Scotland to a great extent and living in the Middle East, I find myself thinking nostalgically of home when I look at pictures like this one.
Thanks for sharing this lovely picture and take care.

Hi Bev!
I like the vast panorama of your landscape!
Anton

Hi Bev,
I like this composition in the portrait framing. This really adds emphasis to the hills. Muted colors from the grey skies, but that is the norm there. A great sense of depth.

Possibly your best shot yet. TFS

Hi Ben,
I find this landscape very beautiful, peaceful and a great place to live, perhaps for the low population density.
I have made you a WS. I hope you don't mind.
