Hi Hilary,
A really simple and nice composition. I love the sun shining through one side of the poppy (I've never seen a yellow one before) and the other side in shade, a great contrast of colours against the blue sky. Nice low-angle POV too, nice shot.

Guessing that this is a welsh poppy, we only have 2 yellow poppies growing naturally in the UK.

great composition - works well against the blue sky, though I think it woudl benefit with a touch less exposure - so either underexpose or decrease the brightness afterwards.

Hello Hilary,
what an impressing capture of this yelow poppy against the clear blue sky! I very much like minimalized compositions as the one you arranged here!
(To add to the final perfection, I might suggest cleaning the slightly noisy parts of the BG around the blossom. That noise obviously has been created by some postwork sharpening. It is easily removed by applying a noise removal filter selectively on BG by means of a magic wand selecting tool.)
That picture looks very fresh and gives you high spirits,
it is looking hilarious, indeed.

This is a vivid and happy shot with wonderful colours and a creative, simple and beautiful composition. I never saw a yellow poppy!

I like that! It is so graphic, so beautiful! the yellow poppy against the nice soft blue sky is so simple, but so efficient. I like the luminous and shadows zones of the flower.

Very artistic, but also a well executed photo. Lighting, exposure and composition are spot on. DOF could be a little wider, but it doesn't spoil the photo.

I really like the concept of this photo. The composition is simple and zenlike. Great contrasts in color - great vivid colors. :)
