[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I planted a wildlife garden this year. This is one of the first visitors. I visited a small garden centre in Cumbria specializing in herbacious perennials. I was lucky that the owner liked to photograph butterflies and was able to help me to select a variety of plants. These included Knautia macedonice pink, Verbena bonariensa, Echinacea purpurea, Astrantia major Buckland, Echinops bannaticusalbus, Ciraium rivalura atropurcum, Scabiuos Goldeningensis and Sedum Spectabalis (Oh, and I have planted plenty of buddlea, the butterfly bush). I can vouvh for the Sedum. It grew in the garden of my last house and I have a photograph of it covered in butterflies. Lovely! Oh, and bees and other insects love Nepeta.

Beautiful colors and composition. Unfortunately the image quality could be better; lots of noise.

excellent composition of the pretty butterfly on the purple flower. good pov and very nice colors, there is just a little bit noise visible though.
well seen & captured, thorsten.

Excellent picture of a wonderful butterfly with great details! Sharpness is very good and colors look natural! Very good use of DOF! Composition and POV are also very nice! TFS!

Good clean image with super contrasting colours

Hello Bev
I really like this composition very much.
The butterfly is almost in the center and complements very much the color of the flower.
Its position, facing front is very unusual and I like it because even so it is tilted and you appreciate the colors of the butterfly from an angle.
Excellent colors and details and great BG.
Regards
JC
