[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm not sure what species of damselfly this is (I suspect it is a female common blue damselfly - please correct me if I'm wrong), however it wasn't until I processed the picture that I realised it was in the middle of devouring another insect!

As this is my first attempt at photographing damselflies, I was quite pleased with this. I managed to take about four shots before it finished its unfortunate meal. This was my favourite. The others show the full damselfly.

A 2x teleconverter was attached to the macro lens.

Hi Andrew,
Wow! This is very good for your first attempt with damselfly, you had an amazing timing! I think it is the first time I see one eating :) Great details and good compo! Impressive picture! TFS,
Claudine

Hello Andrew,
A great macro shot, excellent detail and good colours. Great light, especially across the background. DOF is a little shallow (only my opinion of course, everybody has different ideas about it) but it's hard I think when you are so close to the subject. Great work.
Regards,
Adrian

Hi Andrew,
This is an excellent first damselfly capture.
The details are nice, clear and sharp.
Good colours, lighting and exposure. DOF is spot on and the POV is good.
Well composed. I'm not 100% sure of the ID, but this could be a female common blue damselfly.
Thanks for posting, have a great end to the week.

Before I started taking photos of these and other insects, I don't think I really noticed them. Now I see them everywhere!

Wow! A great catch, i've never seen a damsel with the prey! This is the first and this one has superb quality also. Incredible sharpness, details, superb use of flash too! and bg is still wonderful! It has jump to my favourites!
Congratulations!
Ersin

a very good shot Andrew,
well captured, nice composition, for myself I would crop it a little from the right side to become a higher shot, but that's personal, good work.

So wonderful, Andrew,
it's an excellent close-up of this dramatic moment - I love the eye of this cute damsel and the warm colours. Very well done, thanks
