[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken just ten minutes or so after the sun set, experimenting with long exposures whilst avoiding getting wet feet from the sea lapping in around the tripod (and my) legs!

I found this gave the optimum feel, any more and the sea was too milky and ghostly looking for the effect I wanted, any less and it wasn't quite enough.

Minimal Photoshop PP - slight level and saturation tweaks, crop, resize, border, sharpen.

Hi Doug,
Interesting result of a [very] long exposure shot. 'Blue hour' (time just after sunset) seems to be a good time for this kind of shot. Nice simple frame. Well done.

Very nice, I like the cloud-like appearance of the waves with the long exposure. Good composition, depth of field and detail. A split neutral density filter may have helped prevent the sky from being so bright, but it is a minor detail in a really lovely image.

Nice.. very nice... the sea looks like clouds of fog. Your exposure is just right, as you said.
Good details too. Sharpness on the rocks are good.
I like this picture. Good composition as well. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi Doug

A beautiful scene. Love the colours. Great effect from the slow shutter speed. TFS.

Hi!
Very nice effect. If you don't look at the lower part of the picture, this could be fog and clouds below the top of the mountains!
Thanks, Enrico.

Hi Doug,
What a stunning image, such great work with the shutter speed, giving the entire composition this eerie mood. Love the beuatiful shaped rock in the FG and the soft colored sky. I do agree with Dave on the use of the filter to get more texture in the sky.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Doug!
Thanks for your visit and kind remarks.
A breath-taking image of the sea late in the evening with long exposure. It has a dreamlike quality about it.
The rocks in particular look fantastic.
Well done and thanks for sharing this great image.

Excellent experiment with wonderful result Doug.
The colors and obtained textures are really spectacular with great composition, POV and framing.
Congratulations for an unusual post.
Thank you and greetings... Ricardo

Hello Doug,
As for experiment it looks pretty good :-) I like the milky look of the sea and the delicate colours of the sky. The rock in FG is nicely placed and the composition looks very nice. I only have feeling that the picture is a little out of balance - the right part seems to be sort of heavy... but overall you did very well on this one!

Beautiful landscape. Lovely soft dreamy tones. The long exposure works really well on the water adding to the slightly unreal atmosphere.Wonderful composition. A really nice shot - I like this a lot

What a great picture!
Youve done yet another great image!
The long exposure effect is working very well here, its almost taken right out of a pro photographers magazine! Do you use filter to avoid overexposing the sky? I think youve done a great job with the light.
Well done!

Cette jolie image me fait penser ŕ un paysage "lunaire". Le long temps de pose donne un aspect huileux ŕ la mer. Bien vu.
