It is a Ganoderma, probably G. applanatum. or artistīs conk.
Very good use of DOF to get this one into focus.
Nice use of flash except in the white parts, which are very difficult in this kind of fungi. I find it to be one of the most reflective surfaces in the forest :)

Hi Geof, now this looks nothing like Mel Gibson! :) Great DoF, clever use of flash (very little shadow cast) and contrasting colours and tones. Is it edible? I wouldn't like to eat it even if it was..... Well done, TFS. Regards Tim.
