[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I chose this shot as it shows how much the rut has taken out of these magnificent animals. The stags can lose up to 20% of their body weight during the rut. During the time of the rut they are too busy defending their hinds to eat. All is calm now and the stags are eating as much as possible to prepare them for winter

Hello Karan

I guess that is where the expression being in a bit of a rut comes from.Nicely composed Karan,I like the B&W and how it shows off the textures.Great POV and good DOF.The deer are so plentiful around here right now that the danger of collision with cars is a real night hazard.TFS

Hello Karan,
It's a very peaceful photo, showing well the condition of the animal. It really looks tired. B&W works great here. I like the framing and PO as well.
Best greetings,
Michal

Bonjour Karan, bien belle expression dans cette tête de cerf un peu fatigué!! I like your post in B&W, it's a good choice to do that. Cropping is perfect too, well done and best regards, Didier.

Hi Karan,
Amazing picture! It speaks for itself.( The expression reminds me of some tired human beings). Black and white is a good choice for this portrait.
Best regards
Anne

Hi Karen,

I love this shot it really works well in B/W

Excelent quality B/W with lots of detail.

I have only managed to get to Richmond once and loved it. These beautiful beasts are so majestic.

I never managed to get photographs of your quality, but have got some OK shots.

Great photo.

John

Quelle belle gueule il a ce cervidé.Thomas

Very nice shot Karen, I like the close composition and good details. I think you could have raised the levels on this B&W conversion. I not sure if you have used a sharpening brush on the nose as I think I see artifacts. Anyhow, well done..

Hi karan,
A beautiful close up with such a great expression. Great work on the B/W. It has good contrast and perfect details. The DOF is perfect and I really like the reflection on the wet nose.
