Hello Stephen,
I know Giants Causeway very well and to me it's one of the most spectacular places I've ever seen. You pictured it in a very special way. I love this mysterious mood, blurred water and dark sky. Superb shot!
PS. And just to put some scale into the picture - 60 mln years ago was when the dinosaurs were vanished. Quite a long time ;-)
Best greetings,
Michal

Hi Stephen,
Superb capture, excellent composition, perfect mood. The DOF is good as you distinguish the basalt columns very well from the FG and beyond. Your exposure time is perfect and the lighting in well balance throughout the picture. Good use of the Cokin filter as usual.
Is that fog on the surface of the water? If so it is beautifully captures. I am also confused on how you were able to have light on the columns with the sun shining behind them!

Hi Stephen,
Great landscaping, with the rule of thirds in prominence. 15 secs exposure has blurred the water magnificently and the fore ground detail is awesome. Was the fiter a grad? Even the sky is well exposed.
Great shot and tfs

Just amazing! One of those photos that remind us that we live in such a beautiful world, in spite of us, humans. Great shot.

Wow. 15 seconds is perfect here, I can hardly believe the way the ocean looks -- very surreal (and like naturewalk calls it, foggy). The composition of rocks and textures really contrasts with that -- the hex shapes and their collection into rounded hill shapes. Great sky to add to that, especially the mooon with the star-shape. For me the muted colors are another strong point. Trying to go out (from your 350D) on a really high note, are you? It works for me -- this is the best shot I've seen of the Giants' Causeway. [But why did y'all name it after the SF Giants, anyway?)
Mike
P.S. Reminds me a bit of a post-apocolyptic Hollywood thing...

Hi Steve,
What a great moment to make this photo. The sun in the back and to moon in front of you. It really helped on the lighting. The effect of the slow shutter speed gave the photo the right touch. Great composition with the different layers of rock and ocean.

Hi Stephan,
An amazingly beautiful place. A perfectly composed and framed shot. The slow shuteer speed created a dramatic effect on the water. Great exposure across the entire tonal range. Awesome!

Simply stunning, Stephen.
The mist is just perfect. I'm amazed to see such an atmospheric look to the mist with an exposure time of just 15 seconds. Most photos we see like this have exposures of several minutes to get the desired effect. I bet you were excited when you saw it!
Wonderful multi-layered composition and perfect exposure.

Bonjour Stephen, l'ambiance de ce site est parfaitement rendue et les colonnes de Basalte en premier plan entourées d'écume donne de la profondeur au paysage. Belle harmonie de teintes avec un ciel trés charge. Félicitations, Didier.
