Green is associated with Ireland, which is known as the Emerald Isle because it's green year round. Lush green pastures stretch as far as the eye can see, and the colorful hills are cut with winding streams.

Ireland is an island with almost 2,000 miles of coastline in Western Europe. It’s divided into two parts: the independent Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, a territory of the United Kingdom where I live 6 miles from Belfast.

This week Il be posting some shots from various locations throughout the Island showing some of the geological rock formations and places of natural beauty.

This photo was taken on the north coast of N. Ireland overlooking the Atlantic.

Glorious coastline Stephen,
lovely and green. Is there a small fishing boat to the R/side of the shot?

Hi Stephen,
Beautiful landscape, I only miss Finn, sucking his thumb - the one who burnt his finger on the scale of the samon - from youe very interesting folklore.

A very beautiful landscape shot. Color and detail are excellent. I love the framing withe the use of the rocks in the foreground. Everything has good detail. Very Nice!

The Irish half of me loves this shot....so does the Engish. As you quite rightly say, this DOES capture Ireland at its best.....very well done

I like the square format you use for your photos, Stephen. And i like your landscapes too, indeed.
Thanks a lot.

Very nice composition and colors on this beautiful place. Should I think of a landscape, or a seascape? It's so well combined between fore and background that I would just say it's an obvious place for cleaning our minds of all burdens. Thanks for posting, Stephen!
