It's time for my second photo

„Sunny Intervals” – such weather expression is probably most often term used on British Islands.

According to the name – there exists bigger or smaller (mostly smaller) chance for appearing sunshine moments during cloudy day.

It was the same in this case. Matter-of-fact it was raining all day yesterday. There were short breaks, but generally the weather was remarkably uncomely. However, I was waiting for forecasted weather change next day, which of course didn’t happen.

After spending the night in the car I reached the moors. This time I went deep into them (amazing how walk optically short distance in this terrain can take over an hour). Till this time it started raining for good. Despite all I placed the equipment, covered it by sheet, and I was waiting. One hour passed – nothing.

I started to lose my faith that anything will change, when on the horizon there appeared a little scrap of the blue sky, clouds tired for 2 minutes and the magic began.

This is how one small moment can change everything.

Hi Piotr

Another great shot from this wonderful place, i was here too in the summer! Looks like you got lucky with the light and weather in the end though, far more dramatic than i had when i passed through.
Great composition and well managed exposure, your shots so far are really making me long to get back to the Highlands!

Cheers,

Paul

Nice image. I was up there last summer, and was amazed at one stage to find myself stood in brilliant sunshine, whilst 20 metres away it was absolutely pouring with rain. Loved it up there in the Highlands.

EDIT: LOL, was everyone up there this summer??

Well...what can i say...they could torture you and still get nothing if you have that much patience and belive :)
Wonderful capture, but my hat's off to you for what you endured to be able and take this.
But...it was defiantely worth it! The result is more that imressive and the contrast between the light and the darker areas in your picture is amazing.
Also all the tones and colors are simply lovely and those clouds in the back look impressive.
Excellent POV and a great composition, too.
Very well done!

just dropping by quickly, great detail and contrast - looks like you had a 'good time'. I think you are off the A82 to the right here before you get to the Kingshouse Hotel... but I might be wrong.

What filters did you use of this one?

Superb play of light and shade. The contrasts are well handled here.

Hi Piotr,
I need to burn this into my brain. I'm going to visit Scotland this summer. I just love the play of shadows and light, giving one photo such different moods. Great work on the exposure, keeping texture in the clouds and and soft colors in the shades.
TFS,
Niek
