Hello Clint,

Although a bit too late, I would like to wish you a warm welcome to TN. It is a lovely place where you can meet great photographers and learn a lot about wildlife and photography. I really hope you will enjoy browsing through this website.

As far as it concerns this picture, I am amazed by the fine quality you present here. The photo is extremely well done both artistically and technically. The composition is very simple and efficient. A nicely placed subject against a plain background. Maybe the flower is close to the center of the frame but since the bug and the drop is the main subject of this picture, it doesn't distract. I also noted the great job you did with the DOF. It emphasizes the subject leaving the background and some parts of the flower OOF. On the other hand, everything in focus is extremely sharp, showing a high level of detail. I can almost feel the texture of the bug's wings. The flower adds a colorful spot to the picture which makes a great contrast with the background. Exposure is also perfect! You exposed both highlights and shadows with no loss of detalis. Outstanding work here too!
I left the best part for the end. In my oppinion, the timing of this shot is the "highlight" of the photo. And you even used a fast shutter speed to freeze the drop in mid-air. This is excellent! I wonder if you used a white sheet of paper or another bright surface to reflect light from it. Whatever the technique, the results are smashing!
