[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another deer shot, this time a grazing hind. I liked the look she was giving me. The stags are supposed to be imposing but I find that it is the hinds that have the hard stares

Habitat & Feeding.
The natural habitat of the red deer is forest, but as the great forests of Britain were felled over the centuries, most of them were forced to live on exposed moorland, moving into wooded plantations during severe winter weather.

The deer are browsers by nature, pulling off leaves from oak, birch and rowan trees. They will also eat twigs, ivy and lichen from trees, especially during the winter. In open habitats, the deer become mainly grazers, cropping grass and browsing from small shrubs such as heather. Feeding takes place mainly during the early morning and evening, the deer resting and ruminating (chewing the cud) by day.

Hello Karan,
Very good portrait of this deer.
I like the bright light and the way it illuminates the subject.
You got sharp details on the fur.
I like also the animal in the background, you managed so good the DOF that it can be seen enough to give a reference of the surroundings.

Great shot, really like your composition with your main subject in the foreground and the male blurred as part of the background, great pose with good eye contact, nice details and beautiful colours.

A very nice portrait of this deer,interesting low POV,and very good DOF.The details are sharp.I like the onlooking OOF stag in the BG.Very effective.TFS

Il est superbre ce portrait de cette femelle.L'image est très claire et l'exposition de lumière bien réussie. La lumière très douce dévoile des détails subtiles dans sa fourrure. Bravo et merci pour cette très belle photo....JP

This is another nice one, Karan. The OOF buck in the background works effectively in the composition. These deer must not be too intimidated by humans.

an almost wry look on her face here?!

Lighting is great, as is the details. i thought at first that i found the blurred image of the Stag in the background a bit distracting, but on further thought i actually quite like it and i think it adds to the overall theme.
