Storm Surge
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A very large storm front pushing in from the south caused some monstrously sized waves to pound the coast on Saturday.
Unfortunately there's nothing to give you a true sense of scale here, but we estimated these waves to be around 20ft high. As always, the tide seemed to turn from outgoing to incoming very quickly and a hurried if not slighlty panicked retreat back along a long stretch of very slippery rocks ensued.. |

Hi Paul,
In this picture we can feel the wind and hear the sea. Great composition with the dark stone in front and the strong waves in the back. I like also the ton sur ton colouration.
Best regards
Anne

Hi Paul,
Great seascape, showing Mother Natures fury. The tops of the waves are being blown off as they break. Superb job Paul, I hope you kept your feet dry.

Smiley tomorrow.
Hi Paul,
I like it when a color photo almost has a black and white look. This one has that same look to it eventhough you know it is a color photo. A wonderful action photo with great details and clarity.

You can really feel the ferousity of what is on the way... and knowing the area it adds to the sense from this picture.
I know first had how big some of these waves can be when 18months ago I was rescued off a stranded train by firemen wearing life jackets....
